What is European Network of Healing Gardeners
An inclusive European Network of Healing Gardeners has been established by the Healing Gardener project partners with the aim of fostering the benefits of therapeutic gardening. Serving as a dynamic forum, the network is designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and share best practices among participants and organizational staff engaged in emerging roles such as healing gardeners and Healing Garden’s tour guides. Moreover, it serves as a mechanism to ensure the sustainability of the Healing Gardener project results, fostering long term cooperation among partners and fostering collaboration with other organizations to explore innovative initiatives, projects, and activities centered around therapeutic gardening.
Puropose of the European Network of Healing Gardeners
The network serves as a collaborative platform aimed at fostering the advancement and dissemination of therapeutic gardening practices across Europe. Our specific objectives are as follows:
- Facilitating Knowledge Exchange: Providing a space for sharing insights, experiences, and innovative approaches in therapeutic gardening among professionals and organizations.
- Promoting Professional Development: Offering training sessions, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to support the continuous growth of healing gardeners and tour guides.
- Ensuring Quality Assurance: Establishing standards of practice and guidelines for maintaining the quality and integrity of therapeutic gardening programs.
- Facilitating Project Follow-Up and Collaboration: Coordinating follow-up activities related to ongoing projects and initiatives, while identifying opportunities for joint ventures and partnerships.
- Advocating for Integration: Raising awareness and advocating for the integration of therapeutic gardening into various settings, including healthcare, social services, education, and communities.
Founding Members
Fundación INTRAS is a non-profit organization dedicated to mental health research and interventions, aiming to improve the lives of people with disabilities, mental illnesses, and homelessness. They offer vocational training, psychosocial rehabilitation, counseling, and various activities, focusing on empowering individuals for independent living.
Jardines terapéuticos Palmlöf specializes in transforming outdoor spaces into therapeutic environments, supporting activities for active aging and mental well-being. They create therapeutic gardens in public parks and private settings, offering therapy services and training to professionals on utilizing gardens for therapy.
Theotokos Foundation provides rehabilitation services to children and young adults with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders, promoting their inclusion in society, work, and life. They offer education, therapy, and training programs tailored to individual needs, focusing on early intervention, daily living skills, and vocational training.
Johannes Diakonie Mosbach is a rehabilitation institution offering vocational training to young people with disabilities. They provide training in various occupations and support social integration. Additionally, Diakonie-Klinik Mosbach offers specialized treatment for mental disorders.
